Cocoa Village, Florida is home to one of our favorite restaurants for lunch in the Cocoa Beach Area. It is a perfect match for the historic buildings and quaint shops in Cocoa Village -- about 15 minutes west of Cocoa Beach on Hwy 520 across the Intercoastal Waterway. Cocoa Villiage is actually on the east edge of the town of Cocoa, FL next to the Indian River.
Tip - There is ample free public parking in Cocoa Village 1 block west of the Brevard Avenue "Main Drag" running North-South. Parking is about 4-5 blocks south of Hwy 520 off of Florida Avenue. (see Map on Murdock's web site below)
Murdock's Bistro and Char Bar Restaurant

-- offers great "homemade" food, a very interesting interior, and we have found - excellent service.
Much of the interior of the Restaurtant, as well as the large ornate front windows and bar front, were salvaged from the historic Brevard Hotel which used to be on the riverbank a few blocks to the east. Some very ornate wood carvings hang from the ceiling of Murdock's. (see picture at top)
Murdock's Bistro Restaurant is in the former Murdock's Grocery Store building, so they kept the Murdock part of the name for the Cocoa Village Restaurant. The sign above has a caricature of the two sisters who "run" Murdock's -- along with the assistance of their Mom who helps with all major "business decisions" they told my wife and I when we were there last. The three of them are at the end of the bar in the picture at the top of the page.
Frequent Blue Plate Specials, Live Music 6 nights a week + during Sunday Brunch, + Sat and Sun breakfast from 8 - 12. Murdock's Bistro is our favorite Cocoa Village restaurant. A Riverfront "Cocoa" Restaurant Favorite just South of Cocoa, FL
Actually about 5-10 minutes south of Cocoa down Hwy 1 on the River in Rockledge, Florida.

Attractive, relaxed place to eat with a great view of the Indian River. Almost all tables have a view of the river - ask. Don't miss a bowl of their great Clam Chowder!
Frequent live music in evenings, Sunday Brunch. Great seafood and other entrees at reasonable prices with a relaxing view across the river.
