The following is a listing of the "North of Pier" Oceanfront Virginia Beach Rentals in Resorts which are listed with Resort Condominiums International (RCI) or Interval International (II) Timeshare Exchange Companies. At some Virginia beaches area Resorts they also run a regular Hotel type operation to do Virginia Beach condo rentals.
It is NOT necessary that you be a timeshare owner to take advantage of these often VERY affordable Resort Condo Virginia Beach Vacation Rentals!Don't overlook the often very reasonably priced (sometimes even "cheap") Vacation Rental option of a Time Share Condo Rental directly through the Time Share Resort or its management company.
Time share condo rentals are usually very reasonably priced vacation timeshare weeks that owners who are not using them that year have placed for Rent through the Resort.
The Virginia Beach resorts described below are available for Vacation Time share exchanges by RCI or II Timeshare members, and most also have Oceanfront Virginia Beach Vacation Rentals available for rent by the week and in many cases by the day - that BOTH Time share owners and non-owners can take advantage of.

If you are checking on Resorts not listed here, note that Atlantic Avenue runs along the length of Virginia Beach - about a block off of the ocean and beach - in front (west) of the Resorts which are next to the Ocean. Odd street numbers on Atlantic Avenue are OceanFront - even numbers (eg. 600 Atlantic Ave.) are on west site of Atlantic Avenue and are about a block from the ocean -- and usually have an Oceanfront Resort between them and the Beach. They do however, generally have easy access to the Beach and Boardwalk.

Brand New II Affiliated Oceanfront Resort at north end of Virginia Beach - 34th St. & Atlantic Ave. (Pier is at 15th Street) Large 19-story Resort taking up two blocks of Atlantic Avenue ocean front on Boardwalk.
Three Ocean Beach Club Oceanfront developments: a full service hotel, a Vacation Ownership tower (time shares), and a Hotel-Condominium - total of over 400 rooms. There will also be a 3-story Retail Center across the street on Atlantic Avenue with plans to have a connecting walkway over Atlantic Avenue and a parking garage.
One, two, and three bedroom units will be / are(?) available. Ocean Beach Club was scheduled to open with limited availability in August, 2005 but we have been unable to verify how much availability they currently have. You will need to call for Virginia Beach Vacation Rentals information and to find out if Resort is actually fully open for business yet with all amenities accessable. Villas at the Boardwalk - and Rock Fish Restaurant outdoor patio

II affiliated Oceanfront Resort. Villas at the Boardwalk was built recently as Timeshare Condos so the units are laid out better and reasonably sized. Still smaller than most Timeshare condos we have stayed at in Florida, but bigger than Clarion conversion units above.
Tip Some of efficiency "lock off" units here do not face the ocean. Also check to be sure a 1 bedroom you are considering faces the ocean Vs having a "side view" - (probably slightly less expensive, but know what you are getting before you rent.) Ask about your individual unit number so be sure you are getting an ocean front unit if that is important to you - it is to us.
Villas at the Bordwalk Resort is affiliated with the Clarion Resort above. Courteous staff and well maintained. Main drawback we had with Condo was that the units have "thru-the-wall" air conditioning units right in the center of the glass windows overlooking the ocean so you always have to look to either side of the Air conditioner to see the Ocean! Many of the condo balconies were off of the master bedroom Vs the Living Room which was also not our first choice. Otherwise, great Resort Condos for Ocean front Virginia Beach Time Share Rentals. (See other Candid User Reviews for Villas at the Boardwalk Resort + comparison prices link below)
Many 2 & 3 bedroom Units have versatile "lockoff" efficiency unit for one bedroom so it can be rented or exchanged seperately from rest of unit. Efficiency bedroom has seperate entrance to hall, mini-kitchen, and Bath.
Tip Can do the 45 minute Timeshare sales pitch and get a $30 Restaurant coupon good at most restaurants on Virginia Beach. We did it and didn't think was real "high pressure." Rock Fish Restaurant in resort is one of our "Top Pick" Virginia Beach Restaurants. See writeup on that page.

The Four Sails - 3301 Atlantic Ave., Virginia Beach VA 23451 - (757) 491-8100 RCI affiliated Ocean front Resort. Carries RCI "Resort of International Distinction" award. Resort has one and two bedroom units. Units have queen size beds and whirlpool baths. We think this was resort we RCI exchanged to several years ago and had a good experience, but to date have not found the notes or any pictures of the Resort. Very reasonable Oceanfront Virginia Beach Rental Condos rates.
Go directly to a Resort Condomonium International (RCI) Resort Directory selection page where you can do a quick look up of RCI Virginia Beach Resorts on the Ocean Beach. Select Virginia from the "State" drop down list box and then type in City of Virginia Beach -- select "Beach" in the Additiona Criteria "Amenities" box below, click the "Search" button, and you will get a list of 6 possible Virginia Beach Vacation Rentals Resorts. (two are not ocean front - see below.) Tip Notice that a link to the RCI Directory resort description and pictures is available, as well as the direct link to the Resort Web site so you can easily check on their availability and pricing of Ocean Front Virginia Beach Rental Condos.Note that both the Ocean Key and the Atrium Resort are not on the "Ocean" side of Atlantic Avenue and both show the Beach as "Nearby" Vs in their "On Site Amenities" list.
